Keep sensitive information secure, and carry it on the device you already have.
A license on a phone is harder to lose than a card, and it can ask for a biometric check before it opens. The concept uses a QR code so the scan does not depend on holding the phone sideways.
Research
Problems with the card
Lack of hierarchy
Every line looks equally important.
Congested space
Text sits too close together to scan quickly.
Outdated features
A barcode wants a horizontal scan. A QR code can be read in either direction.
Wireframes and comps
The layout follows a vertical phone, closer to a boarding pass than to a plastic card. Later comps split into a formal direction and a friendlier one, then moved the details under the portrait and put the QR code in a swipe.
